    Spirituality Support & Discussion

    The Spirituality Support & Discussion Group is a meeting for all over 18 to discover, rekindle, or live in faith and/or spirituality. Individuals of any belief system are welcome to participate in discussion, share experiences, questions/concerns, and seek advice with other spiritual individuals.


    This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month from 11:00am to 12:30pm.

    Next meetings: April 3rd and April 17th

    Both open topic discussion groups: Share thoughts and experiences that interest you, and reflect with others.


    LOFT Peer Support Groups are open topic drop-in groups. There is no need to preregister and no fee to attend. Donations are welcome. They are lead by facilitators who identify as peers with those in attendance.

    There is no fee to attend discussion groups but a $5 donation is suggested, more if you can, less if you can’t.  Fees related to activities are to the responsibility of participants.

    TransParentcy Youth Group

    This group is run by Center Lane:

    TransParentcy is run by Center Lane staff at The LOFT center in White Plains. TransParentcy is a group for transgender, non binary, and gender nonconforming youth (ages 13-21) and their parents/guardians. During this meeting, both youth and parents/guardians meet with Center Lane staff to have their own separately held support groups.

    Pride Chorus

    Love to sing? Pride chorus is resuming rehearsals! Every Wednesday from 6:30pm-7:30pm.

    The LOFT has formed an Pride Chorus. The chorus is co-ed, requires no audition process and is lead by professional music director Zack Wright. Read more about Zack below.

    The LOFT's Pride Chorus strives to reflect the diversity within our communities.  We are a blending of voices representing all different sexual orientations, gender identities, ages, races, abilities and music/choral histories.

    Anyone with a passion to sing in a chorus/choir is welcome to join The LOFT's Pride Chorus. No chorus experience necessary.


    There is no required fee to participate in The LOFT's Pride Chorus but donations are welcome.  The chorus has two seasons each year with a Summer break in-between.  The suggested donation per season is $50.00, more if you can, less if you can't.  If you joined a season mid-way, a $5.00 donation per rehearsal is suggested. The donations are used to give music director Zack Wright a stipend for volunteering his professional expertise to the chorus' development, the purchase of sheet music, rehearsals fees when the chorus practices in MUMC rooms, and any performance related expenses.

    Donations are not limited to members of the chorus....family, friends and fans of the chorus are welcome and encouraged to give. Thank you for helping keep songs in our hearts.

    About Pride Chorus leader, Zack Wright:

    Zack Wright, a native of Georgia, holds a bachelors degree in Music Education with Choral Emphasis from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. After graduating, Zack spent three years working as a teacher and musician in Chicago. He was Assistant Choral Director at Hubbard High School (a Chicago Public School), resident Music Director at the Northbrook Children's Theatre Company, and accompanist for the Northbrook Community Choir. In 2015, Zack moved to White Plains, NY to begin teaching at The Harvey School in Katonah, NY. Additionally, Zack is a music director at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre and Coordinator of Music and Worship at Memorial United Methodist Church, where The LOFT: LGBT Community Center is located.


     

    LOFT Social Groups are open groups which welcome everyone ages 18 and over. There is no need to preregister and no fee to attend. Donations are welcome. They are lead by facilitators who identify as peers with those in attendance.

    Lions are groups of service-minded people who are interested in doing volunteer work to improve their communities. We are young people, families, and Baby Boomers alike. To become a Lion is to become an active volunteer, a member of a respected international organization, a leader in your community and a friend to people in need.

    The Westchester Pride Lions Club meets on the 4th Thursday of every month at 7:00pm. However this month the meeting will be held on Wednesday the 24th.

    A peer support group specifically for LGBT people 55 and older!

    The 55+ Peer Support Group is an open-topic, peer-led, support group created to address the specific needs, challenges, and lives of people 55+.

    April 25th featured topic: International Discussion - Have you ever traveled or experienced a culture other than your own? Join us to discuss and bring any artifacts/memories you have t share with the group!

    Sexual Compulsives Anonymous (SCA)

    exual Compulsives Anonymous (SCA) is a 12-Step Recovery program for sexual compulsion, sex addiction and romantic obsession.

    SCA meets weekly on Thursday evenings from 7pm-8:15pm  

    SCA's primary purpose is to stay sexually sober and to help others to achieve sexual sobriety. Members are encouraged to develop their own sexual recovery plan, and to define sexual sobriety for themselves.

    It is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other, that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from sexual compulsion.

    ¡Westchester, Tu Ambiente!

    Are you Hispanic/Latino/Latinx and are looking for a Bilingual Spanish Speaking LGBT Peer Support Group?  If so, join us for ¡Westchester, Tu Ambiente!! Group meets the 4th Thursday of every month at 7:00pm. This group also plans a social activity every month. Details will be added below when available.

     

    Eres hispano / latino / latinx y estás buscando un grupo de apoyo LGBT bilingüe entre pares que hablen español, Si es asi, unete a nuestro grupo llamado:  Westchester, Tu Ambiente!! El grupo se reune el ultimo jueves de cada mes a las 7:00pm. Este grupo tambien planea una actividad social cada mes. detalles seran añadidos cuando esten disponibles.

    Silver Connections Planning Commitee

    Silver Connections is The LOFT's LGBT 55+ Senior Outreach Program and is designed to encourage socialization and continued learning in adults, ages 55 and older. The Planning Committee for Silver Connections meets the 3rd Friday of every month from 11:00am-12:30pm and is open to any LGBT adult ages 55 and older.

    Silver Connection's Planning Committee is your chance to take a leadership role and lend your voice and expertise to the growth of our Silver Connections program.

    The Youth Drop In is run by Center Lane staff at their Yonkers Location. Center Lane Youth Drop-in is an informal gathering for LGBTQ Youth. Drop-in is a safe space that allows you to chat with friends and friendly people in a welcoming environment.
