    Pride Chorus

    Love to sing?!

    The LOFT has formed a Pride Chorus.   The chorus is co-ed, requires no audition process and is lead by professional music director Zack Wright.  Read more about Zack below.

    Anyone with a passion to sing in a chorus/choir is welcome to join The LOFT's  Pride Chorus. No chorus experience necessary.

    The Pride Chorus meets weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm (please check LOFT calendar for scheduling)


     

     

     

    Zack Wright, a native of Georgia, holds a bachelors degree in Music Education with Choral Emphasis from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University. After graduating, Zack spent three years working as a teacher and musician in Chicago. He was Assistant Choral Director at Hubbard High School (a Chicago Public School), resident Music Director at the Northbrook Children's Theatre Company, and accompanist for the Northbrook Community Choir. In 2015, Zack moved to White Plains, NY to begin teaching at The Harvey School in Katonah, NY. Additionally, Zack is a music director at the Westchester Sandbox Theatre and Coordinator of Music and Worship at Memorial United Methodist Church, where The LOFT: LGBT Community Center is located.


     

    LOFT Social Groups are open groups which welcome everyone ages 18 and over. There is no need to preregister and no fee to attend. Donations are welcome. They are lead by facilitators who identify as peers with those in attendance.

    There is no fee to attend groups but a $5 donation is suggested, more if you can, less if you can’t.  Fees related to activities are to the responsibility of participants.

    Transgender Peer Support Group

    The Transgender Peer Support Group is an open topic group run by a trained facilitator for individuals who identify as transgender, transsexual, cross-dresser, gender variant, gender queer or intersex (18 and older). Partners of transgender group participants are also welcome.

    This group takes place the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm (Note: In July, the group will start the second Sunday of the month not on the first)

    Sunday, November 4th and November 18th (at 4:00pm)
    Saturday, November 10th and November 24th (at 5:30pm)

    Tuesday Morning Gaymes at The LOFT

    The LOFT's Tuesday Gaymes Group meets on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 5th Tuesdays from 10:00am-1:00pm to enjoy board games and card games at this meeting.

    Whether you love games, or just want to relax and have some fun, you are invited to join us for our Tuesday Morning Gaymes Group. The group meets on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 5th Tuesdays of each month from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

    Next Meetings: Tuesday, October 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd (For the month of October this group will be meeting on the 4th Tuesday of the month, not the 5th.)

    All levels are welcome and encouraged to attend!

    The Youth Drop In is run by Center Lane staff at their Yonkers Location. Center Lane Youth Drop-in is an informal gathering for LGBTQ Youth. Drop-in is a safe space that allows you to chat with friends and friendly people in a welcoming environment.

    Free HIV/STI Testing

    Free HIV/STI Testing is provided through a collaboration with Hudson Valley Community Services (HVCS) on a monthly basis at The LOFT. Includes testing for Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis.

    Free HIV/STI Testing is conducted at The LOFT every 3rd Tuesday of month from 5:00pm-8:00pm (with the last test taken at 7:30 pm).  Testing is fast, free, and discreet.

    The LOFT welcomes STI Prevention Specialist Stephanie Cowell from HVCS who will now be joining Cato Jones, Inform Prevention Specialist, to provide free monthly HIV/STI testing at the center.  Two testers now means shorter wait times!

    The Young Adult Transgender Peer Support Group is open to all trans, transgender, non binary, and gender nonconforming people between the ages 18 to 29. This group is open topic, and drop in based.
