CELEBRATE #UNITY - Yonkers Pride!
Yonkers is New York's fourth largest city with a population of over 200,000 and just a few short miles from New York City. Mayor Mike Spano's LGBTQ Advisory Board in conjunction with the Downtown Yonkers Business Improvement District has organized a grassroots effort to host the city's first ever Pride event to be held Friday, June 8th through Saturday, June 9th, 2018.
Yonkers Pride is one of a handful of LGBTQ events in Westchester County that promises to attract a very diverse audience, comprising people aged 5 to 95, men, women, and children; singles, couples, families; gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgendered, as well as their straight allies. Yonkers residents as well as residents and visitors to New York City will join us for this inaugural event.
Our mission is to produce an inclusive, secure, and fun event to promote freedom of expression, motivate activists in the on-going fight for equal rights, and to honor and celebrate the diversity of the Yonkers LGBTQ+ community, their families, and allies.
