Calling All LGBT Seniors!

From Stonewall to today, our LGBT community has grown in ways that many of us may have never imagined and as LGBT seniors, you’ve seen it all!

You have a unique story to add to our rich LGBT culture, and we want to hear it!

Read below to learn how you can participate in The LOFT's Creative Aging Memoir Writing Program this summer!

In honor of The LOFT's 35th anniversary, we invite you to share a piece of your personal history to kick off The LOFT’s 35 for 35 Project: Showcasing 35 Stories for 35 Years.

This summer, The LOFT is offering a memoir writing course specifically for LGBT seniors, taught by LOFT Writers Workshop co-leader and SUNY Orange Creative Writing Professor, Steven Shaw.

Classes will be held every Monday from 2pm-3:30pm from June 11 to August 6

No class the week of July 4th for the holiday.

Please be sure that you can attend min 6-7 classes. 

Think writing a memoir is too daunting?

In addition to our class meetings, we will hold workshop sessions where you can meet one-on-one with Steven

Every Friday from 2pm - 3:30pm, from June 15th to August 10th.

No workshop the week of July 4th for the holiday.

These sessions are optional.

This program is completely free and open to all skill levels.

NO PRIOR WRITING EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.
