The Director of the Bureau of HIV/AIDS Epidemiology (BHAE), housed in the Division of Epidemiology Evaluation and Partner Services (DEEP), will direct all Bureau aspects related to HIV surveillance and epidemiology in New York State (NYS). The Director will oversee policy formulation and program development; program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; and CQI activities related to HIV surveillance in NYS. The incumbent will oversee a staff of over 80 in the various Bureau programs such as: HIV surveillance, incidence, systems, data analysis, data to care, and special surveillance research projects. Responsibilities also include oversight of field surveillance activities in all regions of NYS (outside of NYC); provision of leadership, management and supervision of program staff and strategic planning to ensure program outcomes contribute to the State’s effort to end AIDS by 2020 and beyond.
