Melzingah Reservoir Hike

Hudson Valley Queer Outdoors will be taking their first hike of 2018 at the Melzingah Reservoir Loop, Beacon, NY, on Saturday, January 6th at 10:30am!

The January hike will take place on the Melzingah Reservoir Loop, starting on the Blue Notch trail off of 9D in Beacon, walking through glorious maybe snowy forest over several brooks, then popping into the Yellow trail before looping down past the Melzingah Reservoir. It is a gentle but beautiful trail, and very dog friendly.

Directions: Set your GPS to 196 Breakneck Rd, Beacon, NY 12508. You'll see room for 3-4 cars in front of a post with blue trail markers that says "Notch Trail", as well as another small pull off across the street. The post will be on the left hand side if you're driving south, or the right if you're driving north.

Distance: 3 miles, or possibly extended to 4/5 miles if it's not too cold/depending on what the group wants. 2-3 hours.

Please RSVP by email to [email protected], along with any questions you might have. Check out the website, and follow the Facebook and Instagram (@hvqueeroutdoors) for any trip updates. A weather report will be sent out closer to the date.
