In 1997, Achilles moved to New York City to write novels, where he fell victim to the every aspiring writer cliché. He did, however, achieve great success as a coat checker, bouncer, bartender, and ultimately general manager at Manhattan’s most popular gay bar, G Lounge.
In 2019, he self-published his first book, Raised by the Bar, a memoir on the life lessons from his twenty years of working in the NYC nightlife.
Achilles currently lives in Quakertown, PA, where he’s working on his next book, Raised by the Barn.
