"This is one of my favorite trails! We'll start out on some rolling hills along a brook, then go up Bald Mountain for some great views of Harriman State Park, then proceed downwards until we hit Doodletown, a bizarre former hamlet of sorts. There are lots of historical markers, but mostly it is just a really great varied trail." - Hike Organizer
Difficulty: This trail has one large ascent without rock scrambles (about 500 ft over 1/2 mile) to the top of Bald Hill towards the beginning of the hike, and then continues steadily downward until leveling out entirely for the last mile of the hike. You can read a more detailed description here.
Directions: Put 41.300786, -73.985924 into your GPS, which will bring you to a small pull off area directly off of Rte 9.
Coming from the north: the area will be on the left hand side of the road. If you get to the Iona Island turn off, you've gone a minute too far.
Coming from the south: the pull off area will be on the right, just after the Iona Island turn off.
It is really easy to whiz by the area on Rte 9. Just slow down and look for our rainbow flag.
