Film Friday meets on the 3rd Friday of every month for two screenings of the latest in LGBTQ cinema. The first screening begins at 1:00pm and the second screening begins at 7:00pm. Discuss thoughts and opinions following the film!

For November 15th, Film Friday will be going on an outing to the Irvington Theater for a viewing of The Lavender Scare. The screening starts at 7:30pm, we will be meeting in the lobby at 7:15pm.

Irvington Mayor Brian Smith will introduce this exclusive screening of The Lavender Scare, one of the most talked about films of the decade—which won 18 awards for best documentary. The film will be preceded by the short Hiding in Daylight, written by Irvington Theater manager Greg Allen, and followed by a Q/A with the Lavender Scare's director Josh Howard.
Film Synopsis: The Lavender Scare is the untold story of an unrelenting campaign by the federal government under Eisenhower to identify and fire all employees suspected of being homosexual. It's a chilling reminder of how easy it is to trample the rights of an entire class of people in the name of patriotism and national security. The New York Times called it: "Fascinating and horrifying ... and timely."

LOFT Social Groups are open groups which welcome everyone ages 18 and over. Groups are led by members of the LGBT and allied communities. There is no need to preregister and no fee to attend.
Donations are welcome. Suggested donation is $5; more if you can, less if you can't. Fees related to activities are the responsibility of participants.
