Race, Gender, Orientation, Sexuality and Privilege
with Jesse Zayas

Privilege is a word you hear a lot these days, but it’s hard for many to define. Privilege occurs when one group of people have rights that are denied to others because of the group they belong to. Often those with privilege are unwilling to acknowledge it.

We will discuss how privilege plays a role in sustaining a system of social inequality and violence around race, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.

You will have an opportunity to talk about how we can all play a role in helping society recognize how privilege operates on institutional and individual levels.

All ages welcome.
